Bluebells.

Inspired by one of my daughters’ recent school projects about an artist called Polina Bright, I planned my own shoot to explore the connection between feminine energy and the natural world. One particular painting by Bright caught my attention, and reminded me of the flower Bluebells. Having suffered from clinical depression for many years, Spring is the light after a long dark winter, and Spring is my favourite time of year.

In April and May, our ancient woodlands are awash with the much-loved, nodding heads of the bluebell. Millions of bulbs can exist in just one wood, giving rise to the 'blue carpets' that are a springtime joy. I live in the country so I’m never too far from woodlands and meadows so it was ideal.
Portait from Sydney based artist Polina Bright.

The whole shoot was inspired by Bluebells but is really more about the feminine connection to nature and the outdoors.
